First thing in the morning of June 29 we left Masai Mara. On the way to Nairobi we drove over that awful road but saw some good birds; we didn't have any chances for photography. Thanks to Agoi for a great trip! (Except some parts that weren't under his control.)

The service on Emirates wasn't as good as on our trip east, but nobody lost our luggage. JFK is not well set up for people to find their flights. By the late afternoon of June 30 we were back at my mother's house.

On the plane home from Cleveland a few days later, I read Oryx and Crake, by Margaret Atwood. The three main characters sometimes use the aliases Oryx, Crake, and Thick-knee.

Back home, Laurie Tümer gave me several good suggestions on this site, as she had helped me with photography before. Thanks, Laurie!
