This species is a relative of the familiar House or English Sparrow (rare in Kenya). It's sometimes considered a subspecies of the Gray-headed Sparrow, Passer griseus.

This picture and the Purple Grenadier were taken at the same time and the photographs show both, but here only the sparrow was in focus.
